Very nice; I look forward to upgrading.
Related question; what you you recommend as the nicest L&F that consumes the least amount of colors? The intent is to run it on an 8bit display. Thanks.
gumshoes – i would imagine Metal with classic theme / Windows with classic theme and Motif use the least amount of colors. As to the “nicest” – that’s subjective and will be part of your design process. All Substance core skins use gradients and may look banded on 8bit display. You can try creating a set of Substance painters that use single (solid) colors and see how that works out on your target hardware.
Thanks
Kirill
Thanks, that is what I figured but it is always worth asking someone who has likely seen them all. Hell, people make windows managers with vi key bindings so there is a chance someone made an 8bit L&F.
[...] Grouchnikov has put up a release candidate for Substance 5.3. It is looking very good, but be sure to test it and provide any bug reports you may have before [...]
Hey Kirill… I didn’t know about your project. Looking fantastic! Congratulations. Tried it under Vista with no probs found at all; will try it on Linux later. Thanks for the great piece of work.
Wow nice.
Any idea around when it’s gonna be released?
vigge- have you read the entire post? The release date is explicitly stated in it.
Thanks
